Top 10 Most Popular Indian Politicians of 2017

Take a look at the top 10 Indian Politicians list of 2016-17 not just to see who are the most popular in this country. Look at it, also, to get a sense of how, over the preceding year, power has changed hands and how power itself has changed.

10. Lalu Prasad Yadav-

Laloo Prasad Yadav is the famous politician in India, he was the minister of railways in 2009 and before he was the chief minister of Bihar known for both good and bad. Deeply influencing the Bihar politics at the state level and also playing a part in the central politics, he is one of a very prevailing figure of Indian politics.

Nitish Kumar was born 1 March 1951.  He served as the Chief Minister of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and earlier from 2005 to 2014 as well as served as a minister in the Union Government of India. He has transformed Bihar from a basket case into a new Promised Land and has almost single-handedly destroyed the once invincible Lalu Prasad Yadav. He began cleansing the program from the top, becoming the first CM to discard the MLAs favourite slush finance, the Local Area Development fund.

Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed is the present  Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, serving since 4 April 2016. She has been successful her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the role,  after his death in Jan 2016. Mehbooba is India’s 2nd Muslim woman chief minister after Syeda Anwara Taimur of Assam. Before she was avowed in as the Primary Minister of Jammu & Kashmir. She had formerly shown Anantnag in the Fourteenth Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2009.

7. Arvind Kejriwal-

Arvind Kejriwal was born 16 August 1968, who is the Chief Minister of Delhi since February 2015. He formerly served as Primary Minister from  December 2013 to February 2014, getting down after 49 days. He is also the nationwide convener of the Aam Aadmi Party. His party won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections with a majority, obtaining 67/70 assembly seats. He is recognized for his diverse movements, especially his support for the  Annas Lokpal bill.

Rajnath Singh is the present Home Minister of India in the Modi cabinet. He is associated with Bharatiya Janta party and is the popular figure the party politics. He began his profession as a physics teacher but then jumped into politics, serving many important appointments such as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and president of BJP and that too twice once from 2005 to 2009 and the second from 2013 to 2014. He has also served as the education minister in the Vajpayee cabinet.

5. Arun Jaitley

One of the prominent leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party, Arun Jaitley is the Finance Minister & Minister of Corporate Affairs in the government of India. He has appeared as the party’s chief election strategist, enjoying a key part in the Bihar success and handling the difficult situation in Karnataka with care. Jaitley served as the General Secretary of the BJP in 2002 and then again in 2004.

4. Sonia Gandhi-

Sonia Gandhi was born on 9 December 1946, is an Italian-born Indian politician, who has served as President of the Indian National Congress party since 1998. She is the widow of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.  After her husband’s assassination in 1991, she was invited by Congress leaders to take over the government she was elected President of the Congress party and has been continuing since then.

3. Amit Shah-

Amit Shah is a Local Indian politician that is supposed to be to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Shah is currently being the National president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He has conducted a major role in the party’s emergence as a well-known power in Indian politics and has become the top of an all-new BJP. Amit Shah completed his education in Mehsana and followed his final in bio-chemistry from CU Shah Technological innovation College in Ahmedabad. He joined with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at the age of 14.

2. Yogi Adityanath-

Yogi Adityanath born  as Ajay Mohan Bisht on 5 June 1972 is an Indian priest and  a Hindu nationalist politician and was appointed as the Chief Minister on 26 March 2017 after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the 2017 State Assembly elections, in which he was a prominent campaigner. Adityanath is also the Mahant or head priest of the Gorakhnath Math, a Hindu temple in Gorakhpur, He has an image as a Hindutva firebrand. He is also the founder of the Hindu Yuva Vahini, an extremist and militant youth organization that has been involved in communal violence
